Sharing Opportunities

The Japan Israel Business Forum is a platform with a mission to support the activities of the Economic & Trade Mission of Israel in Japan and promote networking opportunities within the Japanese - Israeli business community in Japan.

JIBF also interacts with Japanese entities interested in Israeli businesses and aims to establish partnerships between Israeli and Japanese companies by leveraging synergies between them.

JIBF cuts through the haze of doing business in Japan by building the right connections and providing timely, relevant information to our members.

The Japan Israel Business Forum connects Japan and Israel based businesses, facilitating new profitable partnerships.
We are a business networking community for Japanese companies interested in doing business with Israeli companies and vice versa, as well as providing lectures and networking opportunities.

it is the premier platform for any company interested in the

    Nir Platek is currently the CEO of Lisuto, a Japanese-Israeli AI for e-commerce company, and, eLady, a Japanese vintage luxury e-commerce company. Nir is an Israeli, born and raised in Tokyo, and fluent in Japanese. He previously founded the first venture capital firm to bridge between Israel and Japan and has made investments in numerous start-ups. He is an 8200 unit alumnus (winner of the Creative Thinking award) and past lecturer of Economics at Tel Aviv University. Nir is also a member of the Israel Bar Association, Co-founder of the Israel Business Forum in Japan, and served as the Israeli Olympic Team Attaché for Tokyo 2020. Nir holds an LL.B. degree in Law and a M.A. degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Economics, both from Tel Aviv University.

    Daniel Kolbar serves as Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Israel to Japan as of October 2020. Based in Tokyo and Osaka, Israel’s Economic and Trade Mission to Japan is building commercial partnerships, creating business opportunities for Israeli companies, promoting inward investment, scouting Israeli technology for Japanese corporations and fostering bilateral governmental cooperation in matters related to trade and investment promotion, innovation and trade policy. Before moving to Japan, Daniel was Head of Bilateral Trade Agreements at the Foreign Trade Administration. During this period, Daniel was in charge of Israel’s trade relations with the European Union, Latin America, Eurasia and EFTA, leading the Free Trade negotiations with the Eurasian Economic Union and Guatemala. In 2013, Daniel founded Israel’s Economic and Trade Mission in Rio de Janeiro, and served as Consul for Economic Affairs in Brazil until December 2017. Between 2010 and 2013 Daniel covered trade policy affairs and coordinated the Free Trade negotiations with India and Colombia. Prior to his diplomatic career, Daniel spent eight years in Hospitality Management in Switzerland, Australia, Thailand and Spain. Born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Daniel is fluent in six languages and holds a BSc. in International Hospitality Management from EHL, Switzerland; MA in Diplomacy Studies from Tel-Aviv University and a Masters in Legal Studies (for non-jurists) from Bar-Ilan University.
